Saling Valley Khaplu – Most Beautiful Tourist Spot in Baltistan

Saling Valley is one of the most beautiful tourist spots in the Baltistan region. It is located in District Ghanche in the Baltistan Division of Pakistan and is considered one of the most touristic points in Pakistan.

Thousands of Pakistani and foreign tourists visit this place every year. This valley has a beautiful lake and many fish farms. Saling is located just 20 minutes’ drive from the center of Khaplu. The other name of Saling is the Corridor of Hushe Valley.

The most famous point of this village is the Saling Fish Farm. This farm also has a beautiful restaurant, where tourists can sample delicious Baltistan and other foods.

The other famous dish in this restaurant is fried Trout Fish. You can order foods like trout fish at a very cheap rate.

There are many beautiful springs in Saling village, and some are also located at Fish Farm. The water of these springs is very tasty, very cold in summer, and sometimes very hot in winter.

To visit this place, people can get a local taxi, van, or motorcycle from Khaplu Bazaar. The roads are very beautiful and lush green fields, the Indus river, and some green fields of fruits and vegetables. There are two bridges on the river, one is an old wooden bridge and the other one is a newly constructed beautiful RCC bridge.

Saling Valley has a beautiful fort, that was built by the great Amacha family. This fort is not so famous as Khaplu Fort, because this fort is not bigger and more beautiful than the fort of Khaplu.

The people of Saling are so innocent and kind. They complete their daily basic need by growing fruits and vegetables. You don’t need any guest house because if you ask a local to stay in there they will happily agree. The crime rate in this valley is 0% and there is no Police here.

There has been no registered police case in the last many years.

Saling Cricket Stadium

Saling Cricket Stadium is one of the most high-altitude cricket stadiums in the world. This stadium is famous for its beautiful surroundings, including beautiful mountains, the great Indus River, Khaplu Valley, and other valleys of District Ghanche.

All Baltistan Cricket Tournament is hosted by this stadium and teams from all over Baltistan participated in this great event. The tournament is organized by the local welfare organization and there is no government support.

There is no restriction on playing at this ground. Anyone can play here with a great atmosphere and a beautiful cricket pitch.

Last year a beautiful cricket tournament named “All District Cricket Tournament” was organized by the Government of Gilgit Baltistan was held here. Teams from all districts of Gilgit Baltistan participated in this tournament.

Sogha Lake

Sogha Lake is situated in the village of Sogha near Saling Valley. This lake is very unique compared to other lakes in Gilgit Baltistan. The water is sky blue and we can see the surface of the water. There are thousands of trout fishes are found in this lake.

When to Visit Saling

Saling Valley is the best place to visit in any season of the year. Tourists can visit this place this valley in any season, but the best season to visit is summer and spring. In spring you can see the beautiful valley with apricot flowers on trees.

In summer the valley turns into a lush green valley and becomes a beautiful scene. All tourists visit here in June and July.

How To Reach in Saling?

Saling Valley is just 120 km away from Skardu International Airport. Tourists can hire a car or local van from Skardu to Khaplu and then they will reach here. There are two ways to reach this valley. One is by road and the other one is through Zakh and is accessible only in winter.

It takes 20 minutes from Khaplu to reach this valley by road. There are two bridges, one is wooden and the other one is a newly constructed RCC bridge.
