Khaplu place also known as ” Yabgo Khar ” in the local Balti language was established in the 19th century and is located in Khaplu Valley.

It was the residence of the Raja of that time. From 2005 to 2011 the palace was again renovated by the Agha Khan Foundation and converted into a hotel named ” Seerena Palace Khaplu“. According to some members of the Raja family Khaplu Fort was given to the Seerena administration for 100 years at least.

Location

Khaplu is located in the northern area of Pakistan and it’s the last district of Skardu Baltistan. Khaplu shares its border with Tibet, Ladakh, Kashmir, and some central Asian countries. Khaplu is known for its rich culture, traditional Blati local foods, tourist spots, and lush green valleys.

Khaplu Valley is also famous for its spectacular peaks and glaciers in the Karakarum range such as Mashebrum, Gondogoro, Chogolisa, K-6, and K-7. Every year during summer thousands of domestic and international tourists visit these places and submit millions of dollars into Pakistan’s economy.

Owner Of Khaplu Palace

Khaplu Place was built in 1840 by Yabgo Raja Daulat Ali Khan of Khaplu. The palace is one of the unique palaces of its time and today architecture is still unbelievable how this building was constructed without the modern machinery of that time.

The palace was constructed by Balti and Kashmiri handicrafts. In the Building construction, mainly huge stones and wood are used and the doors and windows are architect with beautiful flowers and script in different languages with hand. The palace has a total of four floors.

Renovation Of Khaplu Palace

In 2005-2011 the Agha Khan Culture Foundation agreed with the Yabgos family to renovate the palace again and the agreement was signed for a hundred years. After a five-year renovation, the place was named ” Khaplu Seerena Palace “and was opened for both local and international visitors. Nowadays the Place serves five-star hotels plus a museum also.

The palace has all types of VIP rooms and provides all the luxury facilities that are available in city luxury hotels. The room prices are very different from each other. For tourist interest, an exhibition room is established on the first and second floors.

Khaplu Palace Entry Tickets

The entry fees to enter Khaplu Palace are different for local and international visitors. According to the source, the residents have free entry and people who come from other cities of Pakistan will charge 200 to 300 per person. 50 to 60 dollars will be charged to international tourists.
