Many tourists do not have knowledge about the permission, and they plan their trip to Minimarg and go there, but when they reach there, they are not allowed to visit the beautiful places where they require special permission from the Pakistan Army.

About Minimarg

Minimarg is a small and beautiful village in the District Astore of Gilgit Baltistan region. The distance of Minimarg from Gilgit City is approximately 190 km. You can go there on two roads.

1. From Gilgit City
2. Via Skardu Deosai National Park

If you are starting your journey to Minimarg from Gilgit you can choose the first road and if you are going from Skardu then you can choose the road from Skardu to Deosao National Park and then Minimarg Valley.

I recommend you take the second road so you can enjoy the beauty of Deosai National Park which is the highest national park in the world and a GB Only UNESCO World Heritage Site. Just next to this beautiful valley, you can see the famous Srinagar India. But of course, there are borders which is why the army is there which is the reason you need special permission.

How To Get Permission To Visit Minimarg GB From Pak Army?

You can submit an application of permission to:

• GHQ Rawalpindi
• FCNA Rawalpindi
• Assistant Commissioner of the Minimarg

These are the only two options you can avail the permission to visit Minimarg Valley.

Recently they introduced a new method of permission in which you need to submit some legal documents to the Assistant Comissioner of the Minimarg and they will allow you to visit the valley.

But keep in mind that there is still no guarantee that you will get permission or not. These are just the ways you can go and try. But here I will tell you about one more option which is quite useful and works 100% but conditions apply here.

If you have any friends or family members posted in this area of Chilim by the Pak Army, you can ask them to bring special permission directly from the Pak Army camp in Minimarg.

If you can get permission from the Minimarg Army camp, then there is no need to apply to GHQ and FCNA in Rawalpindi Pakistan.

In 2022 for only a few months the Commander 80 brigade of Minimarg region announced that anyone could visit the region without any permission and a huge crowd of tourists went there. But after a few months, they put the requirements again and now it is necessary to get the approval first to visit Minimarg.
